The Tomey AL-4000 Biometer & Pachymeter is a compact handheld ophthalmic ultrasound device designed to provide precise axial length measurements and corneal thickness assessment in a single portable system. Combining A-scan biometry and ultrasonic pachymetry, the AL-4000 enables clinicians to obtain critical diagnostic measurements required for intraocular lens (IOL) power calculation and cataract surgery planning.
The system uses a 10 MHz ultrasound probe for axial length measurement and a 20 MHz pachymeter probe for corneal thickness evaluation, delivering highly accurate and repeatable results in clinical environments. Multiple measurement modes—including contact and immersion techniques—allow clinicians to adapt examinations according to patient condition and clinical preference.
