TowardPi - BMizar 400KHz Full-Range SS-OCT/A
The TowardPi BMizar is a 400kHz swept-source OCT/OCTA platform delivering ultra-widefield, full-range imaging of the retina, choroid and anterior segment in a single scan – now available in two configurations (Ultra and Max) with AI-powered quantification, 3D vessel reconstruction and multi-platform image fusion.
- 400 kHz SS-OCT Engine Industry-leading 400,000 A-scans/sec, built on self-innovated, homemade component parts for speed and sensitivity
- Ultra-Widefield, Full-Range OCTA Up to 30 × 25mm single-capture OCTA (44 × 42mm montage) with 10 billion voxels of ultra-high-resolution data, acquired in just 7–15 seconds
- AI-Powered Quantification Suite Automated retinal, choroidal and anterior segment analysis — including glaucoma metrics, choroidal vessel indices and 3D vessel reconstruction
The TowardPi BMizar 400kHz Full-Range Swept-Source OCT/OCTA sets a new benchmark in ophthalmic imaging, combining industry-leading scan speed with true ultra-widefield, full-range structural and angiographic imaging in one platform. Now available in two configurations: BM-400K Ultra and BM-400K Max, BMizar captures up to 30 Ă— 25mm of single-capture OCTA data (26 Ă— 21mm on Max) at 1536 Ă— 1280 resolution, with montage imaging extending to approximately 44 Ă— 42mm, all without the need for stitching multiple scans together.
With 400,000 A-scans per second and proprietary choroid OCTA algorithms, BMizar acquires ultra-widefield angiography in as little as 7–15 seconds, minimising motion artefact while resolving down to 6μm axially and 10μm transversely. A dedicated anterior segment mode (18mm length, 6mm scan depth) supports automatic measurement of the cornea and angle, iris and corneal neovascularisation quantification, and full pachymetry/epithelial/stromal thickness mapping — all without additional lens attachments, including for animal scanning.
Built-in AI tools extend well beyond structural imaging: comprehensive glaucoma analysis (ONH structure and flow, iHealth OU reporting), retinal blood flow quantification (FAZ parameters, non-perfusion identification, MNV flow-area follow-up), and choroidal vessel quantification (CVV/a, 3D-CVI, vessel density, stromal indices) are all generated automatically from a single capture. BMizar’s PiView software also fuses data across OCT, OCTA, colour fundus, FFA, ICG and FAF platforms for joint, comprehensive diagnosis.

- 128Hz eye tracking for motion-artefact-free capture
- No additional lens required for animal scanning
Innovation & quantification
- iSpot – OCTA-guided photocoagulation planning, clearly identifying non-perfusion areas with insufficient laser coverage
- Vessel Skeleton Density (VSD) – vessel-skeleton-based density metric, more sensitive to changes in vessel number than diameter-based measures
- 3D OCTA – full 3D vessel reconstruction with customisable layer visualisation
- Retinal Morphology Trio – curvature map, contour map and true 3D shape restoration from a single 3D structural dataset
- Proprietary choroid OCTA algorithms with full quantification (Choroid Vessel Volume ratio, 3D Choroid Vessel Index, Choroid Vessel Density, Choroidal Stroma Volume/Index)
- All-slabs, all-sizes quantification analysis across retina, choroid, optic disk and anterior segment
- Comprehensive glaucoma analysis (GMA, ONH structure & flow, iHealth OU report)
- Retinal blood flow quantification: non-perfusion identification, FAZ parameters, flow density (grids and ETDRS rings), MNV flow-area follow-up over time
- Anterior segment OCTA and quantification: iris and corneal neovascularisation, automatic AS-OCT measurement (18mm length, 6mm depth), corneal pachymetry and epithelial/stromal thickness mapping
Multi-platform integration
- PiView software fuses OCT, OCTA, colour fundus (CF), FFA, ICG, FAF and optical coherence biometry (OCB) data
