During ESCRS 2020, our partner Tomey launched a brand new product.  The Tomey TOP-1000 Non-Contact Tonometer is their latest product release and combines soft air-puff tonometry with central corneal thickness (CCT) for correct intraocular pressure (IOP).

The device uses a similar design to the Tomey TFC-1000 fundus camera making it a compact and fully automatic unit.

The TOP-1000 uses a Scheimpflug camera to provide automatic CCT measurements.  This measurement in combination with the IOP measurement will result in a corrected IOP reading.  Thinner and more elastic corneas will lower the IOP reading.  Thicker more rigid corneas will increase the IOP reading.
