World Sight Day is an international day of awareness, highlighting the global issue of eye health. Today, Thursday 8th October, individuals, businesses and governments around the world are working together to raise awareness so that avoidable blindness can be reduced.
Cataract, glaucoma, refractive errors and diabetic retinopathy can all be detected through a straight-forward eye examination. Also, advancements in technology have aided the diagnosis and treatment of all these causes of avoidable blindness.
